Jim Raymond has been an excellent Sheriff for Franklin County in a time when many political leaders took the easy way out. While he did wear the mask during Commissioner’s meetings, he did not have it on during local GOP meetings or any of the many rallies and meetings I personally witnessed him speaking. Why does a mask mean a thing in the election of Sheriff? I shows who is willing to ignore unjust laws. It appears his attitude was that there were more important battles to fight than a mask at a Commissioner’s meeting because, in addition to going maskless a multiple rallies that occurred during the pandemic, he gave out his personal phone number rooms of people he didn’t know. He vowed to boot outside agencies who came into Franklin County to enforce COVID protocols. Along with the Pasco PD, there was never an incident where COVID restrictions were enforced by law enforcement. We are likely headed back into lock-downs. Chris Turner is the Chief of Police in Connell. He doesn’t have much information beyond a facebook account and a few paragraphs on the voter’s guide. He’s a guy I would vote for in any other election, but under the circumstances, Raymond is the better choice. We are blessed in Franklin County to not have to hold our nose and vote, and where there are two good choices.
